Barack Obama is one of the leading candidates for the Democratic Party to become the next President of the United States in 2008. In addition to Hilary Clinton, Barack Obama presents Democratic voters with another choice for putting a minority candidate into the White House.

Though not as experienced in politics as some other candidates, Barack Obama has spent time in the Illinois Senate before becoming a U. S. senator. Barack Obama presents himself as the candidate of change, who has always opposed the Iraq War and who is in favor of universal healthcare for all U. S. citizens.
